lessons learned.

tank: target.  shorts: j. crew outlet.  shoes: dsw.  necklace: eBay.

I officially made it through my first week as an assistant principal!  I have already learned so much about how to train teachers, and I'm trying to forget about my ridiculous "Two Truths and a Lie" snafoo in a team-building meeting yesterday afternoon :)

We spent a lot of time this week with teachers who are either new to the profession (and we all know how they're feeling right now) or teachers who are new to our school.  Here's what I've been thinking about:
  1. Be open and honest.  I try to be a really positive person, but teachers appreciate it when we don't sugar-coat reality.
  2. Think critically and enjoy the challenge.  It's funny that we teach our students that learning is FUN-- the more difficult, the better, but it seems like we adults often avoid mental challenges.  I'm doing my best to take them on.

Have a great weekend!
